Course Title: Hour of Code (Elementary)

Course Description:
The Hour of Code (Elementary) introduces young learners to the exciting world of computer programming through fun, interactive activities. In this one-hour session, students explore the fundamentals of coding using age-appropriate platforms including CodeMonkey, Scratch, and Codable. Each month, participants rotate between these engaging tools to build problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and creativity.

Through guided challenges and hands-on exploration, students learn key coding concepts such as sequencing, loops, conditionals, and debugging. The session encourages collaboration, curiosity, and confidence as students see their ideas come to life through code. No prior experience is required—just imagination and a desire to learn.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand basic programming concepts and logic

  • Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Create simple animations, games, and interactive stories

  • Build confidence in using technology creatively

Elementary students (Grades K–5)

Format:
Interactive, instructor-led session alternating monthly between CodeMonkey, Scratch, and Codable platforms
